Jack & Betsy McLaren Presented with Lifetime Achievement Award

On February 1, Jack and Betsy McLaren were presented with a Lifetime Achievement award for their accomplishments as owners of Central Industrial Supply in Winnfield. Matt Purser, a Winnfield native himself, made the presentation at the Field Market summit held in Pineville Thursday evening. The couple was recognized for their successful business endeavors since the founding of the company in 1984.

As local business owners and employer, the McLarens have always stressed quality customer service and integrity in business. When approached in 2017 by Crest Industries about becoming part of the Crest team, Jack first ensured that Crest would continue to operate from Winnfield and that the current employees would be retained.

After his research showed that Crest Industries was also a family-owned and operated company with emphasis on quality customer care, Central Industrial Supply became a Crest Company in September 2017.

A Pineville-based holding company for business units serving the energy, electric, petrochemical, and industrial markets, Crest Industries was founded in 1958 by Tucker Robison when he opened Mid-State Electric Supply from the trunk of his car. Kenny Robison and Scott Robison continue the family legacy.

Having worked together for more than three decades at Central Industrial Supply, the McLarens have decided to retire together. An open house retirement reception will be held Friday, February 16, from 3:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon to give friends, customers, and vendors an opportunity for a visit before their last official day on February 28. Light refreshments and coffee will be served.
